Clarity Health Announces Integration with athenahealth EHR

July 21, 2015 – Seattle, WA

Clarity Health, a leading insurance preauthorization and referral management solution, announced today the availability of an integration with athenahealth that enables customers to streamline and accelerate patient care.

“The integration between Clarity and athenahealth allows our practice to easily send and track preauthorized referrals across our care community, without major changes to existing workflows” says Kris Atkisson, Practice Administrator, at Neospine, a neurological spine surgery center that uses both athenahealth and Clarity Health. “Clarity rapidly delivers completed preauthorizations that are in compliance with the latest payer rules, saving our practice significant time and money.”

athenahealth adds to the list of EHR and HIT vendors Clarity has integrated with. “By design, we created Clarity Health to be vendor-agnostic,” says Bill Bunker, CEO of Clarity Health. “Our flexible platform lets us deliver our solution in conjunction with essentially any EMR platform to optimize and streamline practice workflows.”

Clarity Health recently announced their preauthorization services can be integrated and delivered by third-party healthcare vendors and resellers. “With the increasing move towards value-based care, Clarity is in a great position to automate preauthorization processes in conjunction with other HIT platforms that customers have adopted,” says Bill Bunker, CEO of Clarity Health. “Medical practices currently spend 20 hours per week/per physician on insurance preauthorizations. This time can be redirected to more valuable tasks through the use of Clarity’s solution.”

Clarity Health Processes One Millionth Referral

This achievement highlights Clarity Health’s expertise and proven track record of enabling providers to more quickly and accurately manage referrals and authorizations.

Clarity Health Announces Insurance Authorization Integration for Third-Party Healthcare Solutions

May 7, 2015 - Seattle, WA

Clarity Health, a leading insurance authorization and referral management solution, announced integration capabilities for third-party healthcare solutions seeking electronic authorization services.

“Insurance authorizations are a tough challenge for the healthcare industry, as payers require different information sets and processes,” says Bill Bunker, CEO of Clarity Health. “Many medical practices struggle to obtain completed and accurate authorizations in a timely manner, resulting in payment denials and high operational costs.” The average practice spends 20 hours/week per physician on insurance authorizations due to cumbersome processes, according to Health Affairs.

Clarity solves this authorization headache by combining a sophisticated insurance processing platform with a Seattle-based service team to quickly deliver accurate and complete authorizations directly to customers. Customers report a 59 percent time savings when utilizing Clarity for authorizations.

“With the growing complexity of insurance payers and plans, it is increasingly difficult to keep track of when authorizations are needed,” says Terry Megiveron, Chief of Provider Services at Mason General Hospital. “Clarity stays on-top of payer changes for us to ensure accurate authorizations are obtained. This not only saves my staff significant time, it also reduces potential payment denials.”

Third-party healthcare companies can leverage Clarity’s authorization solution by embedding it in their existing HIT platform. Clarity runs in the background to deliver completed authorizations electronically to customers. By adding authorizations to their solution, third-party healthcare companies can add substantial value to their core offering.

Billing solutions and other third-party vendors who seek a authorization service without an integration can also receive value through Clarity’s reseller channel. By ensuring accurate authorizations are obtained for payment, vendors can help practices increase collections and avoid administrative costs associated with payment denials and appeals.

Clarity Health Introduces STAT Service, Delivers Pre-Authorized Referrals in 30 Minutes or Less

November 30, 2014 – Seattle, WA

Clarity Health, a web-based referral management and insurance authorization solution, announced today their new STAT service for radiology practices that will deliver pre-authorized referrals in 30 minutes or less. This unprecedented 30 minute turnaround time significantly benefits radiology practices and patients, as imaging centers often receive high volumes of walk-in patients, same-day add-on procedures, and last-minute rad protocol changes.

“Not only is Clarity Health’s turnaround time lightning fast, the accuracy and quality of the insurance authorizations delivered are outstanding,” says David Winokur, MPA, Director of Medical Imaging at Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue, WA. “By utilizing Clarity’s STAT service, our imaging center can better accommodate last-minute patients, all while saving staff time and reducing write-offs. Puget Sound Business Journal Features Clarity Health on The Pitch

October 3, 2014 – Seattle, WA

Is it finally time for medical clinics to ditch that fax machine? Today, when a doctor refers a patient for, say, an ultrasound, a staffer typically faxes the referral to the ultrasound provider, and the patient then has to call and make an appointment. Many never get around to it. Orders get lost, and so does revenue. Clarity Health automates all this — promising to put more money in the pockets of providers and to let their staff concentrate on better things. Clarity appears to be well-positioned at the convergence of Obamacare, the expansion of electronic medical records and the proliferation of the cloud.

May 5, 2014 – Seattle, WA

Clarity Health, a local Seattle startup and leader in healthcare referral management, announced today it had been selected as a finalist for Red Herring's Top 100 North America award, a prestigious list honoring the year’s most promising private technology ventures from the North American business region.

Finalists are still evaluated individually from a large pool of hundreds of candidates based across North America. Twenty major criteria underlie the scoring and process. They include, among others: the candidate company's addressable market size, its IP and patents, its financing, the proof of concept, trailing revenues and management's expertise. Each company goes through an individual interview after filling out a thorough submission, complemented by a due diligence. The list of finalists often includes the best performing and prominent companies of that year.

Clarity Health Enables Mason General Hospital to Achieve Care Coordination Initiatives

January 31, 2014 - Seattle, WA

Although Mason General Hospital and Family of Clinics of Shelton, WA recently adopted Cerner EMR system, leadership still felt a gap in care coordination. “The challenge for many EMRs is referral management – creating a streamlined tracking and reconciliation process for those electronic orders,” says Terry Megiveron, chief of Provider Services, Mason General Hospital and Family of Clinics. “Clarity was the tool we needed and chose to fill the referral void.”

Clarity Health’s web-based referral management platform integrated with Cerner EMR to provide Mason General a streamlined referral workflow: “We liked the fact it integrated with Cerner, and that, because Clarity handled insurance authorizations for us, we could better utilize the staff we had,” says Megiveron. In a short period of time, Clarity enabled Mason General to improve the speed at which it scheduled referrals, increased the percentage of scheduled referrals, and begun to close the loop of referral management.

“Clarity is one of the ways we’re staying on at the forefront of technology and patient care,” Megiveron says. As Mason General extends these tools to community healthcare partners, the benefits of Clarity will only continue to increase.
